I must admit, I have always been a little bit obsessed with bags. There is just something about throwing on a nice outfit and making it complete with an even better bag.

With Opora handmade, I aim for bags that are a little bit extraordinary. The type of bag that is stylish yet fun, and will get people asking: 'Where did you get that from?'.

Because the fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters of our planet, I decided to focus on using high-quality sustainable fabrics, such as deadstock and leftover furniture fabrics. This means that your Opora bag is not only made to last, but also contributes to the environment.

Did you know that 92 million tonnes of textile waste are dumped globally each year?

The fast fashion industry has a huge impact on our environment, but together, we can change that! I'm not saying you cannot buy fast fashion anymore, but I would love to inspire you to get creative before throwing away your old clothes.

That old pair of jeans you have been keeping in your closet? That jacket you're not so fond of anymore? They could be your new favourite top, skirt, dress... Take a look at my upcycling page and get inspired! You might be walking around in your own creations very soon.

Where to find Opora

Opora's little studio is located in the heart of Bruges, Belgium. It's around ten minutes walking distance from the Market Square.

As I have a full-time corporate job, visits can be arranged after 5 p.m. or on weekends.
