A stylish top made from old jeans

That old pair of jeans you keep in your closet but never wear anymore? Time to upcycle it into your new favourite top!

I designed the pattern for this top myself so I could get the perfect fit. A garment with princess seams is a great option because the pattern pieces are slimmer and will probably fit the legs of the jeans. Make sure to work around any damaged areas.

The perfect waistcoat

Thrifting can be such a bummer when you find the perfect item (especially for €1), but the fit is just not right. Luckily, with some basic to intermediate sewing skills, it is very easy to alter the garment to fit your body.

A tip: take a close look at how the original garment was constructed, so you know how to put it back together.

Why throw away a perfectly good sweater because it has a little hole in the neckline? Because the seam of your pants ripped? Or because the belt on that new skirt is too long for your liking?

These are easy fixes that take anywhere between a few minutes and half an hour to do. And isn't that way cheaper and more satisfying than just throwing it away and buying a new item? Let's do it together!
